5 Tips to Help Your Vape Coils Last Longer

Keeping up with maintenance is a regular part of the vaping experience. In order to make things a bit easier, there are a few tips that can help users protect their equipment and help make parts last. To extend the lifespan of your vape coils, follow some of the suggestions listed below.

Clean Your Kit

Make sure you keep up with regular device maintenance. Clean out your tank, especially when swapping juices. Clean your coil as well. Most cleaning processes consist of rinsing the parts with warm water and letting them air dry. Look up guides that demonstrate proper cleaning techniques if you are unfamiliar. Take a glance at what kinds of juices you are smoking as well. Certain juices that are high in VG can cause more damage to coils over time. Check out a vape store online to find alternatives to avoid these “coil killers.”

Top Out Your Tank

Frequently check your tank and make sure you are not letting it run all the way down. Do your best to refill your tank before it drops below a quarter full. Making sure your tank remains topped out will both protect your coil and help prevent you from getting a dry hit. By keeping your juice levels high, you will ensure there is enough liquid presence for the coil to heat properly and prevent the coil from heating up the wick instead.

Prime Your Piece

Make sure you prime your coils before use. To prime your coil, issue a few drops of juice onto the coil itself and allow it to absorb.

Avoid Overheating

Dodge the pains of overheating by being careful with the firing button and taking time in between hits. Pressing the firing button too excessively can result in your device overheating, resulting in damage to the coil. Chain vaping can also result in damage. By rapidly taking hits without much time in between, the wick isn’t given enough time to properly absorb the e-liquid. This can result in the wick burning and the coil suffering.

Keep Wattage Low

For everyday use, try to keep to a low wattage to avoid putting too much strain on the coil. An additional benefit to vaping at a low wattage is that some flavors may be positively influenced by the cooler temperature.

Keeping up with coil maintenance is a great way to ensure that you are always getting the cleanest hits possible. By taking care of your device and coils, you can lower the number of replacements you have to do on a regular basis.
