Don’t Heat Up The Kitchen Heat Up The Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven

Disclosure: I received product for review purposes, all opinions are my own.

The Summer months in the south can get pretty hot and with only having window air condition units to keep the place cool, we try not to use the oven. With living in the South grilling out usually is our go to when it comes to cooking. We love grilling ribs, chicken, and pork butts.

However, if it’s just my family eating we tend to have left overs. So for lunch the following day, we usually will turn those left overs into another meal. With not wanting to use the oven, those left overs are usually cooked in the microwave.

While microwave cooking is a good way to reduce heating the home, it makes certain meals a bit soggy. Recently, we were sent the Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven to review. I knew right away this would be a product I would love.

The Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven has 6 pre-set cooking modes, temperature settings from 250°F – 500°F, digital timer up to 25 minutes, removable crumb tray, double infrared heating and isn’t big and bulky so won’t take up much space.

With the double infrared heating, it allows me to turn on the toaster oven and cook. I don’t have to wait for it to heat up and it cooks the food evenly. No more heating up the kitchen, then cooking for long amounts of time. The pre-set cooking modes makes it easy enough for my 13 year old daughter to use, whether she wants to make her 4 slices of toast or a frozen pizza.

Our previous toaster oven was big and bulky and it heated up my home just as bad as the oven, therefor we didn’t use it often. With the Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven, we use it for everything and it doesn’t take as long as the old toaster oven we have or the oven. This makes it a plus.

Since we love cooking on the grill and we love pizza, we decided the first thing we would try in our new toaster oven is BBQ pizza. We used the left over BBQ pork from the night before.

BBQ pork shoulder

BBQ pork butt pizza is super easy to make and super good, as I said before we would often use the microwave to make left overs, if you’ve used the microwave to make pizza before you know it can be a bit soggy. We found that using the Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven made a world of difference, our pizza came out nice and toasted, even the cheese was bubbly brown.

What You’ll Need – left over bbq pork butt (shoulder). When we do our pork, we like to use a bunch of different seasonings, then we slow cook it for about 5 to 6 hours. This gives the meat a nice flavor and it just melts in your mouth. Mozzarella cheese,  hoagie buns, and your favorite BBQ sauce, we use sweet baby rays.

You would make this just like you would make pizza, instead of tomato base sauce you use the BBQ sauce, you can use as much or as little as you like. Top it with your left over pork butt, then cheese.

With the Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven, just press the pizza pre-set mode and sit back and wait.

Once the pizza is done the toaster oven beeps letting you know, you then have lunch!

Can you say yummy! End result is a yummy lunch from left overs that everyone will enjoy, and the plus to it, it doesn’t take long to make, using the FlashXpress Toaster Oven eliminates pre-heating the oven and heating up your home.

  1. These ovens are ideal for things like fish sticks or nuggets for the kids. I hate having to run the entire oven for 30 minutes to cook one pan of fish sticks.
