Enhancing the Look of Your Artificial Grass Lawn

One of the joys of installing an artificial grass lawn is knowing that it will look great year-round without requiring hours of weekly maintenance. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t improve how your lawn looks with just a little bit of work. Just a few minutes of basic maintenance a week is all you need to enhance the look of your artificial turf lawn and make it look better than the real thing.

Here are a few tips on how to improve the look of your fake grass lawn:

  • Do a routine inspection on the grass, looking for any possible tears. You should also pay close attention to high-traffic areas of your yard, as there can often be loose connections near the edges in these places. You can tuck these edges into the joints of your lawn by following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Clean up spills and animal waste as quickly as possible. Most artificial turf is made to repel spills, but it’s still a good idea to clean them up quickly in order to avoid potential stains or other damage. Some turfs will absorb pet urine, so you’ll want to clean up and wash down any affected areas. Artificial Turf Supply Commercial and Residential Division sells several turf products that are ideal for use in homes with pets.
  • You can make artificial grass look more natural by planting hedges or flowers around the edges. Synthetic lawns look even better and more realistic when surrounded by beautiful landscaping.
  • If you want a more natural look to your artificial lawn, select a turf type that has blades that are two inches or longer. This will let the blades stand up higher and make it look more like natural grass. You can also use a stiff brush or the bristle attachment on a vacuum cleaner to go back and forth on the blades. This will refresh them and cause them to stand up straight again if they have been trampled by heavy foot traffic.

Taking some basic steps can help you to enhance the look of your artificial grass lawn. Find out more about what you can do to improve the visual aspects of your artificial turf lawn.

  1. I usually hate artificial grass – just because it IS artificial and looks it. But I see you made a good point, something I’d never thought of before: landscaping AROUND it. That way I guess it would blend right in, instead of just stopping dead, the way real grass never does. What a great idea!! Jammie, you ROCK!
