5 Things To Know Before You Start Pinterest

pinterest

Haven’t hit the Pinterest craze yet? Here you will find 5 things you need to know before you take the plunge into the world of possibilities!

Properly Name Boards

This is a MUST, if you don’t take the time to properly name your boards, you will end up with a very unorganized mess. Once you discover you cannot find something you KNEW you pinned, your head will be spinning and you will do the dreaded task of organizing your pins. If you’re like me you’ll have HUNDREDS of pins and you won’t have a clue where to start.

Don’t Group

Don’t group your pins. For example don’t take all those awesome recipe pins and group them on one board. It will annoy you once you really start digging Pinterest. Again you will have to do the dreaded task of organizing all those pins! I started this task today and gave up a short time later. It makes me want to delete everything and start new.

Take a Seat

Better take a seat, once you discover Pinterest searching for new pins will be your new hobby. You will be laying in bed browsing Pinterst knowing you have to be up in a few hours, yet you will continue to search for pins. Pinterest has everything!

Be Prepared To Fail

Okay, so you won’t fail. However, that AWESOME dinner dish that looks to die for that you just found on Pinterest, and HAD to try it for dinner. Well, that won’t turn out like you wanted it to. Many pins on Pinterest will probably fail. I have noticed people pin things they want to try and once they attempt to make it, the pin was a bunk. Like the Pinterest devil is making up pins to make us fail! Don’t let it hurt your feelings though once your crockpot orange chicken doesn’t turn out like the picture.

Write Your Own Description

This one I always fail to do. However, to me this is important, because chances are you will not be the first one to pin the pin. So you are repinning what someone else said about the picture and like above when you have hundreds of people talking about how awesome the orange chicken is, you’ll be more bummed when your orange chicken doesn’t turn out. Then you will be questioning what you did wrong!

Come on over to Pinterest and make sure to follow my unorganized mess. I promise I will one day get it organized.
