Lawn Mower Nightmares!

If you have a yard, chances are you also have grass. In which case means it probably grows, unless you are rich and somehow managed to purchase nice fake grass. So if you are like me and poor with some grass that likes to grow, you probably have to mow the yard. Which would mean you need something to do this with, whether it be a push mower, a riding mower, or even scissors. Hey don’t laugh at me, when you have some tall grass close to the house and your wonderful mower can not reach them, you to probably have taken those scissors out there and chopped if off!

Perfectionism - Measuring Grass Blade

Some people also have stand on mowers.

While our yard isn’t big enough for a stand on mower, let me tell you a horror story and when I wished we had one. We live in South West Tennessee. It’s pretty miserable here in the summer months. It gets so hot you want to do nothing but sit inside under the a/c. Sometimes even when you are in the swimming pool you’re still burning up.

We have a rather large yard, not one you can go out and run a mower across and be done in about 15 minutes. No, we have one that by pushing can take about an hour to an hour and a half. So the riding lawn mower we were using broke, we had no choice but to go purchase a push mower, I mean we didn’t have the money to purchase a riding mower, so we had to make due with what we had.

Like I said we live in the south so if you get out there mowing the lawn with a push mower, in the afternoon hours, you are going to be sweating your behind off and wishing you were dead. Trust me I know these things, I had to do it at one time, NOT fun. So what I did, is I started staying up all night and going out there as soon as it started to get daylight, about 5:30am. I would have the yard all pushed before the sun had a chance to peek up behind the clouds!

I would then come inside take a shower and go to sleep. I did this all summer long, and here we have to mow the grass two to three times a week, I tell you what though, we only did that for two summers before we said enough was enough, and we took some money from our income taxes and went and made the purchase for a riding lawn mower.

How many of you had to make due with what you had to keep your grass cut?

This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own and this is a true story.
