Nielsen-Massey Vanilla, is used by the professional chefs from some of the most famous restaurants. It’s also known to have a very delicate flavor. I have always purchased those imitation vanillas and personally NEVER had the real deal until recently.
Nielsen-Massey Vanilla was founded in 1907, and is family owned and operated, their main headquarters is located in Waukegan, IL. They also have facilities, in the Netherlands.
I am not really sure what I was expecting when I got this vanilla out. I dabbed a bit on my finger to sample, and it has a more in-depth flavor then the vanilla I am use to having. I made some yummy butter cream frosting, and you can actually tell a huge difference between the “fake” vanilla, and the real vanilla. I can see why so many chefs use Nielsen-Massey Vanilla!
The flavor is extremely hard to explain, this is one of those you have to try it products. I always had it in my mind that the imitation vanillas were just as good has the real deal. After sampling the real deal, I have to take my words back. I will never purchase imitation vanilla again. Why? Because honestly it is not the same as having real vanilla.
Even the simplest things taste so much better using Nielsen-Massey Vanilla, as soon as I get the proper items, I will be making homemade vanilla ice cream. When making ice cream with the Nielsen-Massey Vanilla, you have to be careful though, because this vanilla does have alcohol in it, and can make the ice cream not freeze well.
With Father’s Day just around the corner I will be making my husband a homemade cake! YUMMY!

Vanilla Ice Cream sounds good right now with the summer heat.! Enjoyed reading the fun facts, I heard of adding a chocolate bar to tomato base sauces.. going to try adding vanilla next time.
Thanks for the review!
I love making homemade ice cream! You can do so much with so little. I am going to have to try that chocolate to tomato base sauce trick.
