Before I got pregnant for my son I did keto for a few months. I am assuming this reset my hormones which helped with me getting pregnant at the age of 41. He was a total surprise! However, he was a huge blessing to my daughter, my boyfriend and myself.
During my pregnancy I sort of went over board with the eating. I did that whole eating for two. I craved pepsi, reese’s peanut butter cups and Mexican food. My boyfriend would bring me all this to work almost daily.
So when I stepped on the scale the night before I gave birth and seen I had gained 40 pounds during that pregnancy I got a little depressed. I was at my highest weight, it wasn’t the first time I got to that point, however, it was going to be the last. After I was unable to breast feed anymore, I started doing keto. I did keto on and off because I won’t lie, I love food. I love all those horrible carbs.
I learned though I can have some carbs sometimes just not all the time. I am almost to the one year mark of giving birth and I can happily say with doing keto on and off, I have lost 60 pounds!
Might not seem like a lot to some but to me that is a huge loss. I am still working on losing, it’s a daily battle. I will get to my goal weight one day, after all I have to be able to keep up with my son, he is extremely active!
