Food – An Investment In Yourself

Investments are a funny thing – just the idea of making our money work for us. You see, we spend ages saving up (or some of us might come into money through a big work bonus, or even inheritance). This is so that we can create a pool of funds that we can put to work in stocks, bonds, commodities, properties, and treasuries so that it gathers a return in proportion to amount of funds used. This can be quite hard work as pretty sizable chunk of funds are needed to get started, you’ve also got to research investments to make sure you make the right decision.

This idea of investing applies to a lot of our life. For example, does it not apply to education? Where we invest our time in studying, being mentored and learning to ensure that we forge our own path towards our dreams? Of course, it does – it is just that we aren’t using money (it can be argued that we are, of course, via student loans, private school costs and other fees – but time is the bigger expense here), we are using time. Time is the cost of education, and we invest our time in learning to create a better life. We also do this via parenting – where we invest our time into ensuring our children grow up and prosper from a happy and beneficial childhood.

When it comes to our bodies – we have a big choice to make. Metaphors apply heavily here – if our body is an investment, what funds do we place into it? Ones that benefit it in the long-term or short-term fixes. Do we invest our time into sitting on the couch or running on the treadmill? When we think of investing into our bodies, we need to think of the food we eat and how we use our bodies. It could be that food is an investment into yourself and your health. That’s the way we should start to think of it.

Why is that? Well – food has a lot of return for us when used right or manipulated in the right way. Through diets like the HCG, we can achieve a slimmer and healthier appearance, and if you want to know more about HCG, this page shows the history of HCG diet. When we eat well and not to excess, we can benefit from the nutrients of good food and balanced eating.

Food is the fuel for our bodies, so we need to ensure that we eat well instead of simply ‘eating’ as a means to an end. When we eat, we need to think about the food on our plate and understand its benefits – or its drawbacks. We need to process that the nuts in the bowl will give us Omega-3 which builds healthy skin and we need to process that their are foods out there that do nothing for us. We need to take a measured approach to our food – much like our financial investments, but more important. Your cash isn’t at stake here, but your health is.
