Babies can be rather expensive, so when a mother is expecting a new bundle of joy, friends and family get together to throw her a baby shower. Often times the expecting mother will do a baby shower register at a local department store and that will give those who are attending the baby shower an idea for what mom might still need to purchase. I thing I know from having a new baby that most moms cannot get enough of are diapers, diaper wipes and other personal hygiene product for her new child.
Baby baskets are by far some of the best gifts an expecting mom can get at her baby shower. When it comes to the baby baskets, you can purchase them already made or you can get creative and make your own.
Making a baby basket for a new mom is simple. Think of items you would like to receive if you were expecting, items that you know the mom-to-be will use a lot of. Items may include diapers, diaper wipes, baby lotion, baby shampoo, bottles, baby toys, a new outfit or two and of course burp cloths.
Another great gift for a baby shower is personalized items. Maybe a personalized baby blanket or even a personalized teddy bear. My aunt made my daughter a personalized baby blanket when she was born and she is now 15 and still carries that blankey around with her. Meaningful gifts will be kept for years to come and helpful gifts will help the new mom-to-be with products that the baby goes through a lot of in their first few years.
