I would not be trying to save wolf spiders they are extremely poisonous My husband almost lost his leg from a bite from them

Thanks for your concern, and I am sorry to hear your husband had a bad encounter with a spider, however, I am going to assume you’re talking about a different spider. Wolf Spiders are not harmful to humans, while they’re poisonous and their bite will hurt and they will inject venom, the venom is not lethal to humans. So the only way they will harm you, is if you’re allergic to the venom. Wolf spiders are not poisonous but they are venomous. They inject venom to whatever prey they are able to successfully hunt. They need the venom to kill the small insect or animal that they managed to trap or hunt.
The venom of the wolf spider is not enough to kill a human being, however, the bite is of course very painful, and usually, the bigger the wolf spider is, the nastier the site of the venom injection will be. The site of the venom injection can get inflamed and can get infected. There are also cases wherein the bite caused a necrosis of the surrounding tissues. Necrosis is also known as tissue death.
Both infection and necrosis can cause serious complications. So, while the wolf spider’s venom may not kill a human, the complications that can arise from a wolf spider bite can do so

If he was under a house doing work chances are it was a brown recluse. Wolf spiders normally run away, being in the south we have a lot of brown recluse and those can cost one their limbs and lives.
