Omron Blood Pressure Review and Giveaway

When it comes to ones health, it isn’t something to be taken lightly. With having weight issues I know I risk getting diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Not to mention my chance of getting cancer is a bit higher due to the large amount of fat I carry around. Did you know hypertension (high blood pressure) affects 1 out of 3 people? That number is scary, and as of now those headed to the ER due to hypertension is up by 25%!

25% more people are headed into the ER due to cardiac related symptoms. We can bring those numbers down with the proper tools, that are easy to use at home. If we can detect certain health issues early, we can get treatment and get it under control before it’s to late. Recently, I was sent an Omron 10 Series blood pressure monitor to review. With both my husband and I being over weight, and high blood pressure being on his side of the family we needed something at home to check our blood pressure.

When it comes to using medical products at home, I am always looking for those recommended by the doctors. One thing I like with the Omron 10 series is that it has bluetooth, which will allow me to sync the device to an app on my smartphone.

I tried several times to get the Omron 10 Series blood pressure monitor to read my blood pressure and I kept getting an error message, so I tried it on my daughter because she has smaller arms.

I noticed the DIA was orange so of course I Googled it… THIS IS HIGH

I have no idea why this child’s blood pressure is so high, maybe because she is younger the machine don’t work as well on her, I do know it is something I will be getting addressed by her doctor!

While my arms are not THAT huge, they’re pretty big and while the cuff does fit, I don’t think it is fitting like it is supposed to, so I tried right below my elbow, and FINALLY after several failed attempts the days prior I got a reading.

My reading was what it usually is at the doctors office, so I know the machine is working properly.

This is a product I am glad to have in my home, especially after seeing my daughter’s blood pressure reading, it’s a device I can use to keep track, that way when we go into the doctor I can pull out my smartphone and show them the readings. I have not yet synced this device with the app, but will be soon. I like that it has two user settings, so I can track both mine and hers.

You can purchase the Omron 10 Series Blood Pressure machine directly from their website. You can also purchase it at stores like Walgreens, price of this product varies depending on where you purchase it.

  1. The Alvita Ultimate Pedometer looks interesting. I’ve been checking out different options for activity monitors. Maybe a simple pedometer would be just as good (at a fraction of the cost) as long as it’s accurate.
