New York is also known as ‘The City That Never Sleeps’. So, if you’ve got a young family and you’re due to go on vacation, New York is probably the last on your list of considerations. But we’re here to tell you that the Big Apple is full of activities that the whole family will love. With everything from zoos to visit and picnics in the park to enjoy, we can guarantee that there’s something to keep children of all ages entertained.
American Museum of Natural History
Almost every little boy goes through a phase where they’re obsessed with dinosaurs. So, rather than sit at home and watch Jurassic Park for the seventh time, why not take them to the American Museum of Natural History? They are in proud possession of a huge Tyrannosaurus rex fossil that is sure to excite and delight your children in equal measure. A trip to the museum is fun for the kids as well as being educational. So, this is a trip that will keep both the kids and the parents happy.
Picnic in Central Park
New York is a thriving metropolis, where you and your family will get to experience the hustle and bustle of the big city. But it’s also far easier than you might have imagined to ‘get away from it all’ and enjoy some peace and quiet. Right in the center of the city lies Central Park, which is beautifully maintained and a lovely place to share a picnic with your family. You could also end the day by exploring the park in a horse-drawn carriage. The kids will love it, and it’s a great way of spending some quality family time together.
See a Game at Madison Square Gardens
If your children are big sports fans, then no visit to New York would be complete without seeing a game at the world-famous Madison Square Gardens. If sport really isn’t your thing, they also host music events including performances by artists such as Billy Joel and Usher. So, check to see what’s on before you book to help ensure that you pick something the whole family can enjoy.
Many of the music concerts and sports games finish quite late in the evening. So, we recommend that you book a reservation in one of the nearby New York apartments. Then if you are traveling with younger children, at least you won’t have far to go to get to your accommodation.
Bronx Zoo
If your little ones happen to be animal crazy, they’ll absolutely love a day trip to the Bronx Zoo. It offers a rare chance to get up close to some of the world’s most exotic and fascinating of animals. Everything from crocodiles, gorillas, through to elephants and polar bears call the Bronx Zoo their home. So, if you fancy spending a day with your children that they won’t forget in a hurry, the Bronx Zoo should be at the top of your list of places to visit.
We bet you didn’t realize quite how much there was for families to see and do in New York. Well, now that you do, there’s no excuse – you better book some tickets!
