I have struggled with my weight for a long time, and it has only been within the last few years I have become more serious about my weight. I have been on so many yo-yo diets only to fail and gain the weight back. I have learned thus far the only way to success is low calorie intake, exercise, and monitoring your weight daily.
While some will say to stay off the scale I have learned to let the scale hold me accountable for my day prior. I recently had the opportunity to checkout the Weight Gurus Scale. This particular scale is designed to help encourage weight loss, it has a free app which will allow one to track their progress via a smartphone. Within the app one will be able to set goals, and see the changes made through-out the day, week, or month.
Since the scale is a weightless scale you can set it up on both the scale and the app to only show what you have lost/gained. If you have the scale on the weightless mode you can still see your current weight by pushing the set button on the scale, once the scale has measured your weight, body fat, muscle mass, water weight, and bone mass, you’ll then get a barcode which you can scan within the Weight Guru app and your information will be uploaded to your smartphone.
My excuse for the scale bouncing some at the end, is because it’s that time of the month, and we all know what that means, weight gain!
However, in the past month I have lost 13 pounds!
The Weight Gurus scale has many great features such as the weightless mode, the app for android and apple, 400lb capacity, auto step on feature, auto off, auto calibration, auto detect user and the tempered glass. While I love the weightless mode and the app, I did find some things I dislike about the scale.
As mentioned about the scale also measures body fat, lean muscle mass, water weight, and bone mass. I have a few different scales and I also have been measured in all those areas via the doctors office. I found this scale not to be accurate at all when it comes to measuring body fat and muscle mass. During the month I used the scale and the fact I lost almost 8 pounds the body fat percent went no where, and the muscle/water measurements only made slight changes like one day I would have 24.0% muscle and the next 24.9%, then the next day down to 24.3%, and the water would change by .5% once in awhile. Checking with the other scale I have, which matches up to the doctors office during the month I had lost 3% body fat and gained 3% muscle.
So if you were planing to get the scale for measuring body fat, muscle mass, water weight, and bone mass, I would suggest against it, if you wanted an awesome scale that allowed you to track your weight loss without seeing your weight and to keep track via an app, this would be a great scale for you. Just keep in mind all the numbers may not be accurate, or it could just be because I am fat and the scale is having issues properly reading my measurements.
The Weight Gurus Digital Bathroom Scale can be purchased on Amazon for $25.99.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I too use this scale and am unsure of its accuracy as it always shows me about 5-6 lbs. heavier than the Navy Hospital regulated scale I use at the base gym.
It shows me about the same weight on all scales, however, the other parts of the scales are a bit off for me.
