Featuring classic Hershey varieties like REESE’S Peanut Butter cups and Heath toffee these cookies and dessert bars are sure to be the summertime sweet treat your family will love.

We had the opportunity to check out the new REESE’S and HERSHEY’S s’more bars, let me first start out by saying, even if your trying to lose weight having a small sweet every so often is not going to hurt you. What hurts you is eating more than you should, so if you like sweets and cannot control yourself these desserts are NOT for you, because they’re ever so good.

Out of the two desserts we tried I would have to say the REESE’S one was my favorite only because we’re a REESE’S family here!

Making the bars were super easy, I don’t advise letting the husband make them though, because chances are he wants them to be done now, and they’ll not come out right, so you will need to make more just to see how they were supposed to taste. :)

REESE'S bars

After you got your pan and your mix you’re ready to go. Inside the package you will have three different packages. Make sure you follow the steps provided on the back of the box, in order or you’ll have a mess.

You first make the main part of the treat. For this you need melted butter, the mix and a egg.

REESE'S Bar

Once that is all mixed it will be a dough like form, you then spread it in your pan.

REESE'S

Don’t be tempted to eat the dough, even though it is good (I don’t know from tasting heh) it does contain raw egg. I baked it in the oven for 17 minutes, while it was baking I made the peanut butter spread and the chocolate frosting.

Make sure when making these toppings you DON’T use melted butter like you did for the dough, this is where my husband goofed, that and adding in to much milk, then to thicken it he attempted to add cocoa and corn starch.

REESE'S topping Chocolate

It only takes a few minutes to make the toppings, I placed them in the fridge and waited for the REESE’S bar to finish baking, then I let it cool completely. Okay, so it wasn’t completely but it was close enough!

Then we spread the toppings on…

I was going to let it chill for a bit longer in the fridge, but I had some vultures in the kitchen so it was best I gave them all a treat before things got ugly.

REESE'S Bar

End result equaled an empty pan, this was so yummy, my mother in law had one and went back for another, my husband had three, I had one small one, daughter had one, and niece had one. Everyone loved it and talked about how they wished we had more, hence the know your limit if you’re trying to lose weight!
