I have never been one for celebrity gossip, but rumor has it, Mrs. Kate Middleton and Prince William may be expecting baby #2! Of course, the tabloids have been talking about this for a while, I even read somewhere she was having twins! Oh, how I would love to have twins, I think twins would be so fun. However, the twin rumor was quickly denied, but the pregnancy rumor wasn’t.
Some believe the royals will announce that they’re expecting baby #2 on July 22, 2014, which just happens to be Prince George’s first birthday. While this little guy isn’t quite one he already received his first birthday gift. The Royal Mint announced a few weeks ago, that the nations gift to him would be a 5-pound crown in sterling silver, featuring the royal arms and the year 2014.
This beautiful coin will cost 80 pounds or $136 American dollars at the current exchange rate, and they only plan to make 7,500. So if you’re a coin collector, you may want to think about snagging this one up. Prince George is the first royal to have a coin made before his first birthday so this will be one of those must have items.
Can you remember the very first gift you ever received for your 1st birthday? Neither can I, however, I bet Prince George will never forget the first gift he ever received for his first birthday, because it will be one of two things, a new sibling or the above coin in his honor.

Well, well. By now I guess it’s old news – that a new Royal is on the way. I wonder though, what our fascination with royalty? Is it just cause we don’t have it in the US? We WERE all fascinated with Princess Diana, but she was truly a glittering gem in her own right – look at all her humanitarian work! I guess some of her luster has rubbed off on her sons.
