I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassadors program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
I urge you to take the It Can Wait Pledge, and help put a stop to texting and driving. More and more young kids are getting behind the wheel and texting instead or keeping their eyes on the wheel. Some may think it only takes a second to get your text typed and sent, but guess what it also only takes a second for you to lose control and crash, causing serious injury to yourself or others.
Chances are if you weren’t texting you would have been able to prevent what’s to come.
If you are worried about what the person on the other end may think because you don’t respond as soon as you get the text, well Verizon has developed an app called Safely Go. This app will auto send a text back letting that person know you are safely driving. This way the person on the other end will not think you’re ignoring them and you can stay focused on the road.
No text, email, video or anything else for that matter is worth you losing your life over.
All it takes is a split second for a child to run out in the road, and you not see them in time because you had your eyes on your phone instead of the road. Texting and driving is illegal in many states, but this isn’t stopping people from picking up their phones and replying to a text, how many more lives need to be lost before we start Safely Going?
Don’t become a statistic, download Safely Go for free on Google Play, and help save a life, by taking the It Can Wait Pledge, I did.
