Healthy Halloween Treats

Living healthier can be a challenge, taking out all the things you love and trying to find a healthier alternative can be a pain. However, if you are determined you can do so. My family has found this to be true, we have changed almost everything we eat to healthier alternatives, when we make meals such as spaghetti, we make sure to add lots of veggies to the sauce. By doing this we get full faster, and we eat less of the pasta.

With obesity on a rise it is time to find different alternatives to those yummy treats our children love as well. This Halloween we have decided to sit at home, instead of going trick or treating we will be watching scary movies while having healthier treats.

Amy Sherman has shared a recipe for a very yummy and fulfilling snack one can make. This recipe is recommended to make with the T-fal ActiFry; however, if you don’t have one you can make this in any pan.

Amy Sherman’s Popcorn Crunch

Amy Sherman Popcorn Crunch

1/4 sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup natural peanut butter
4 cups popped popcorn

Cook sugar and honey until sugar dissolves about 3 minutes. Add peanut butter, one tablespoon at a time, to prevent it from clumping together. Cook another 2 minutes then stir and cook another 2 minutes. Add popcorn dispersing it evenly. Cook for 3 minutes then transfer to a greased sheet pan to cool.

When I receive my Actifry this is going to be one of the first things I make. YUMMY
