On the 5th of August I was in WalMart, my daughter was wanting a Hello Kitty birthday cake so I went over to have a look at them. While I was looking a worker from the bakery came out. I told her what I was looking for, she showed them to me. I asked if it was to soon to order we still had three weeks left. She said no it was fine.
She grabbed her ordering forms took all my information. While she was taking my order she was also attempting to chat with a friend who was shopping in the store. I felt this was a bit rude, but anyways I ordered the cake was supposed to pick it up at 11am the day of my daughter’s birthday.
I go into the store about 1ish go to pick up my cake… AND IT WASN’T done. I was informed they had no cake order for that day. Umm, yes I ordered it on the 5th. So they start looking around and asked if I had time to “wait” for them to make it real fast. Needless to say I was pissed…
I sent my husband a text message to let him know, I thought it would be best if I planted my face into the Incredible, because things would have gotten ugly if I had not. The manager attempted to put blame on me… making mention I should have never placed the order that early, they only need about a week notice.
I would beg to differ since I gave them 3 weeks notice and they couldn’t get that right… Maybe they need to get new workers or a better system. She did give me $5 off for the what she called it… miscommunication. I am still having issues seeing the miscommunication on my end.
While the bakery manager attempted to compensate the store for the $5 she took off the cake, by trying to squeeze it into a doughnut box, she messed up the back end of the cake. She decided to put it in the proper container and show me her mess up. I told her it was fine because frankly I was tired of dealing with them.
If I didn’t have the Incredible, I would have probably went off a bit more on them, instead I took to texting my husband letting him know everything that went on. This calmed me down some, so I didn’t tell the store were they could place the cake and walk out with no cake for the birthday!
