T-fal’s Healthy Summer Challenge Tip #4

Weight loss T-fal

Tip #4 for T-fal’s Healthy Summer Challenge, eat more fruits and veggies!

We often forget to eat our fruits and veggies! Believe it or not, when you don’t eat your fruits and vegetables, you are robbing your body of all the minerals and nutrients it needs. When you do that your body doesn’t do right by you, and chances are you will feel more hungry, and your body will feel very drained.  If you are trying to lose weight, or maintain a healthy weight you need those rainbow foods.

If you have followed my blog for the past few months, you will have noticed I have been doing a little healthy eating over here. Since I have changed my eating I have lost a total of 33 pounds! It’s amazing how just changing a few things in your life can make a world of difference.

So far during the T’Fal Healthy Summer Challenge we have…

#1. Started to drink more water! Sometimes trial and error is the key to success. I have learned a lot over the past few months, while trying to lose weight and transform my families eating habits. Over half of our total body weight should be water weight. With that in mind it’s super important to drink that water. I have noticed a big difference with dropping the soda and gaining the water. Although, half my body weight is not water, I am working to correct that issue.

#2. More exercise and healthier snacks! I have learned exercising before meals is a good thing, and doing small bursts of movement through-out the day can make a difference. Some movement is better than no movement. I find myself swaying back and forth while doing dishes and parking farther away when I go grocery shopping. It is the little things that add up. Don’t forget those healthy snacks. Snacking is okay, it is the snacks we eat and the amount that are not. I have learned to grab a handfull of frozen grapes when I want to snack, or to change some things in my favorite treats to make them healthier.

#3. Whole Grains, Whole Grains, and more Whole Grains! I love my pasta and bread and I know they’re full of carbs, and I have learned some carbs are not good for you. So we switched to a healthier choice. Although, we limit our pasta, and breads when we do have them we always go whole grain/whole wheat. When you get rid of certain foods you love while trying to be healthier chances are you will stumble and land right back at eating all that junk food. We all know junk food is good while going in our mouths, but there are so many bad things that come with it. Weight gain, bloating, hard time sleeping, constipation, lack of energy, should I go on, or do you get the point?

#4. More fruits and veggies! We use to have a hard time getting those fruits and veggies in. After all it was so much easier to open a box and cook dinner. Now our meal is lean meat and veggies! While we do have grains at times, we don’t eat them like we once did. We have discovered we love our veggies, and we load our plates with them. When making spaghetti we will not only make it with a lean ground turkey, we will also add a lot of carrots and broccoli. This helps reduce the amount of pasta we take, and it gets us full faster. We are still trying to get our daughter to eat more veggies, but I am sure in time she will love them just as much as we do.

What are some things you have been doing this Summer to get healthy?
