Did you know if you were to change a few things in your day, you could see a difference on the scales? With knowledge being power, it’s so important we take the time to research. I have been learning so much about health and fitness over the past few months, simple small changes have made a huge difference.
I know what it’s like to be overweight and feel as though losing it is hopeless. Although these are small changes, they can make a BIG difference.
3 Small things you can change to help make losing weight a little easier:
3. Drink Cold Water!
Since over half of our total body weight should be water weight, it’s important that each day we consume the recommended daily amount. To nail two birds with one stone, drink the water ice-cold. Studies show that drinking ice-cold water helps you burn a little more calories. The reason being your body has to work harder to warm up the cold water.
You could also drink warm water, warm water is known to make you feel full.
2. Add Spices!
You may have heard eating spicy foods will boost your metabolism. Well you heard right. Did you know by adding about 1 tsp of cinnamon a day, could help not only boost your metabolism, but also keep your blood sugar levels at bay? Simply make a meal replacement shake, and add you a teaspoon of cinnamon. If your not much for cinnamon, you could always add some spice to your dinner, cayenne pepper anyone.
1. Move More
If right now you’re saying “how can I move more, my job requires me to sit all day” Simple you have legs right? Start taping your feet, sway back and forth in your chair every so often as if you’re chair dancing. Any movement is better than no movement, and any added movement is awesome. If you’re going to the store park farther away. Take a few extra laps around the store while doing the grocery shopping. (Make sure the frozen section is the last section you shop).
No matter what we’re doing through-out the day, we can always do small things to make us move more. More moving equals more calories we are going to burn. Another great way to burn calories is “cough” cleaning house “cough”. Instead of whistling while you work, dance while you work!
For every 3,500 calories you burn you drop 1 pound of fat.
I’ve been trying to cook with more spices lately!
I had no idea about the cold water trick. I already placed a few water bottles in the fridge!
Another good idea is to cut out all sodas.
