Back when I was having all those dental problems, I went to several different dentists. It is important to me to find a dentist that I am comfortable with. The big part of my fear with dentists, is when I was younger I went to one that slipped and ended up drilling another tooth. This later caused me to have several issues with my back teeth.
One of the biggest mistakes, I made when I was pregnant was not seeing the dentist more often. I did everything I could, but it wasn’t good enough. Almost the whole nine months, I threw up stomach acid. I tried to get something from my ob to stop this from happening, but I was told their was nothing they could do. I would brush my teeth several times a day, but the acid was stronger then my power to keep my teeth clean.
After my daughter was born, I started to notice my teeth getting worse, it scared me, and I new I had to do something about it. However, without having insurance it took me almost 8 years to get my teeth fixed. I still have a lot of dental work that needs done, but for now with out insurance it will have to wait.
Don’t be like me and let your fear of the dentist keep you from getting those teeth checked out. Make sure to do some research and find the best dentist you are comfortable with, this will ease the fear some.
