#1 This is the most important one, DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST
After sleeping for 6 to 8 hours your body needs food within the first hour of waking up, this will help you give your metabolism a jump-start, and stop you from bingeing later during the day. Drinking coffee DOES NOT COUNT as breakfast. Your morning meal should be part protein, fat, and whole wheat. This will keep hungry down, as well as boost your energy.
#2 Eat enough to please your body
If you are looking to lose weight do not cut your calories to low, this will have a negative effect on your body. You may still eat the foods you enjoy, just in smaller amounts, and cut out the candy, soda, and potato chips. Doing this will help you see a difference on the scales as well. Stay away from the processed foods as much as possible.
#3 Eat more often
By eating more often, you help keep your blood sugar stable. Whenever your blood sugar drops to low, you will find yourself wanting to eat a lot. So if you keep those levels in check you are less likely to over eat, you will have more energized, and your metabolism will start on track. When you try to go for long periods without eating your metabolism slows down, and this will have a negative impact on your weight loss efforts.
#4 Make sure you have protein with EVERY meal
Studies show that when you eat more protein throughout the day you will lose weight WITHOUT having to cut calories. Including protein with every meal will also help in reducing your appetite. Since it takes longer to digest protein, you will have the full feeling for longer. For example, have a protein snack bar; make sure it has 12 or more grams of protein.
