You ever wonder how to boost your metabolism? It was not long ago, and I was wondering the same thing. I was not eating much, but it seemed I was fighting to drop the pounds. Did you know that by walking a bit more throughout the day, or switching to diet soda could have a big impact on your metabolism over time? By doing this, you will help your body burn calories faster.
7 Tips To Help You Burn More Calories:
1) Eat Smaller Portions More Often
Studies show, that those who eat small meals every 2 to 4 hour keep their metabolism burning faster, then when they was eating larger meals fewer times a day. By eating small amounts throughout the day, you are constantly giving your body the fuel it needs. This means no more feeling sluggish.
2) Drink More Water (Make sure it’s COLD)
Drinking cold water makes your body expend more calories, to bring the water you are consuming up to your bodies temperature. In addition, water will help keep you hydrated!
3) When Working-out Use Weights
One great thing about working out with weights is it will boost your metabolism in many ways. This will help you build muscle tissue, and guess what that means, that means you will burn more calories. That is not all, by working out with weights it will allow you to keep burning calories at a nice rate when you are resting.
4) Move Your Body More
Everything little movement you do burns calories. The more small movements throughout the day, add up, and can make a nice difference on the scales. Some ideas to help you move more while doing normal things during the day include:
- When watching TV tap your feet
- During commercial breaks stand up and stretch
- Pace back and forth while you are cooking
- When shopping back farther away
- When on the phone sway from side to side
- Chew gum
All these are different ways to keep your body moving, the more you move the more you burn.
5) Add Spices When Cooking
When you cook, try adding some cayenne pepper to the meal, even if it is a small amount to help speed your metabolism. A half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day will also boost the metabolism along with keeping those sugar levels normal. I like to add cinnamon to my oatmeal in the mornings.
6) Make Sure You Eat More Protein
Protein takes longer to break down; this means you burn more calories. Since protein takes longer for you to digest this helps to stabilize the blood sugar for longer periods. This will also help you from over eating later. By eating protein with every meal including your snacks, this will help to increase the amount of calories you burn every day.
7) Eat Those Healthy Fats
By including healthy fats, such as olive oil, flaxseed oil, avocados, salmon, seeds, and nuts. You increase the amount of calories your body will burn.
