I am not here to tell you how you can become skinny over night. I am not here to preach about how important it is to watch what you eat, or to count your calories. I myself have a lot of learning to do, because to be honest, when it comes to losing weight the proper way I am really clueless.
I have tried many different weight loss fads, and yes I said fads, because that is just what they are, I have done the Lemonade diet, the hCG diet; I have attempted the Cabbage Soup Diet. I found results in all three diets, but they were not results that would stick, they are results that make the scales become a yo-yo. I don’t know how many times I stepped on the scale to see it drop by several pounds only to get on the scales again to see that number double going back up. Even though, those numbers may not be accurate, the up and down is enough to make one depressed. This is what it has done to me, my mind sees these numbers, and I get very depressed and give up. I mean what is the since in sticking to these “diets” if the results will only lead to disappointment, this causes me to binge on sweets. Then the numbers go more up then down.
One thing I have learned in my trial and errors with these fad diets is, that you should not be trying to lose weight fast, but the weight should come off slowly so that it stays off, and if you have to bust your ass to work off all that fat you have put on your body over the years, you are more than likely going to keep that weight off. When attempting to reach our goals, we should never call it a “diet” to me a diet is when you starve your body of all the nutrients it needs causing yourself more harm than good.
When losing weight we need to make life style changes, we need to eat healthier, eat less, and move more. With the economy being a mess I know it can sometimes be hard to eat healthier, but I have found over the past 6 months cooking from a cookbook, is not only healthier, but the food tastes better, it comes out cheaper, and you eat less. Why do you eat less? Because of all the different flavors in your home cooked meal your body feels satisfied when you are done eating.
I also know it can sometimes be hard to get motivated. Motivation is the key to losing weight, it is time to stop making excuses and it is time to keep each other motivated, and it is time we start moving more.
In 2010 I lost 30 pounds, if you add up all I gained and all I lost, then gained, then lost that number would be a lot higher, but as of right this minute I am 30 pounds lighter then I was a year ago today. My goal for 2011 is to be 50 pounds lighter this time in 2012.
How do I plan on making this goal happen? I have decided for an hour a day, yes an hour, after the first few weeks I may up this, but as of right now I can only handle an hour, I will move my computer to the kitchen, and I will move my body while playing face book games. Not only am I keeping my mind occupied, I am also moving my body and burning calories.
I am going to be proof you do not need no expensive workout equipment to lose weight while still being on the computer.
Want to join in? Dedicate 1 hour a day to standing up while doing your usual activities online. Push yourself to do this, while standing up you can do several different things to get your body burning more. If I can do this you can do this. Together we can! Good Luck for all who decide to join in.
