Healthy Eating

It is not always easy to eat healthy, I have always purchased meals that would be cheap to make, after starting to focus more on my weight, which I should have done years ago, I started seeing that the meals I was cooking for my family contained more calories then I should consume in a day, and we was consuming most of our daily calories in one meal.

After doing a lot of research and checking the boxes at the store, I discovered it was smarter to leave the box meals on the shelves, and cook leaner and smarter. Instead of grabbing ground beef, I now grab ground turkey, instead of grabbing those 99cent a pound pork chops, I grab turkey cutlets. We eat a lot more poultry and fish, then pork and beef.

When it comes to pastas and bread, I grab the whole grain. At first you may notice a slight change in taste, but once your mind knows it is better for your body it tastes better then what you normally eat. One thing I love doing is cooking out of a cookbook now, and if I see something that sounds out of this world I will play with it some, and make it more healthy for my family.

So if you are like me and wanting to lose weight, but don’t think you can fit healthy meals in with your budget, trust me you can. You just need to shop around some and be smart. Another thing I found that helps a lot is making a meal plan before I go then making my list from that plan, this helps me spend wiser at the store.

With small changes we will see big results!
