Being from the South, it doesn’t get that cold to often. Being born and raised in Michigan, you would think I could handle the cold a bit better. When my husband and I first got together, they all told me it didn’t snow in West Tennessee. They would tell me it snowed once in 5 years. Well I think they lied, because I have been here 6 years and it has snowed EVERY year, granted it stays about a week, it still snows.
Also, being from the South having heat in your home is not really needed, air on the other hand is. The people who lived here before us had a central heat and air system put in, but I think the person who installed it was on crack. It only heats/cools half of the home half of the time, the duct work has gaps all up in it, and to fix it, we are looking at $7,000 OUCH.
So needless to say when it gets cold we have to snuggle a bit more and freeze our behinds when going to the bathroom. I will be so glad when spring is here.
It has been getting down into the teens, some will say “oh it is colder here” Well, you are right but you probably have a furnace as well. We are heating with a small space heater in the bedroom and a small one in the bathroom. At bedtime they come off, so we wake up to is below 40 degrees in here! Trying to get heated back up is not know fun!
